Mount Etna, is Sicily's highest active volcano and a highlight of the island. Our private tour 'Etna 2000 experience' is a complete expeience of the volcano which differs from the crowded multilingual group tours organized by various companies. This private tour is bookableby small parties of minimum 5 adults. The trasport service from Syracuse with pick-up at your accomodation, is included. It takes about 1h30m driving from Syracuse to Mt. Etna. You will arrive at medium height, about 2000 m, and our guide will let you discover the hightlights of the volcano. You will visit some ancient extinct lava craters and you will have a medium-easy hiking along Etna's nature routes, at 1700-2100 m height. Our guides always choose the best option for the group, considering the difficulty level and the panoramas. You will see the dark lava sand, Etna's woods and incredible panoramas on Sicily's coastside. Families can also also specify the 'family friendly option' when booking the tour. In this case our guide will lead you along easy routes, suitable also for children. During the tour you will see the impressive 'Valle del Bove" or the Sartorius craters and the panorama to the summit craters. Some routes could be closed for security reasons during the winter of in case of bad weather conditions. During the day trip you will also visit an extinct lava cave. Protective helmet and torch light are included. Our tours are lead by certified guideds who will give you information about nature and geology of the volcano. There will be a break and free time for lunch (possible also at one of the many restaurants on Mt. Etna). The tour lasts about 8 hours. The departure from Syracuse is at about 8:30 am.

The 'only guide' option includes only the booking of a private guide for the tour. Meeting point on Mt. Etna, no transport included. The 'only transfer' option includes an Etna roundtrip with departure from Syracuse, without guide and with 3 hours free time at Etna south (Rifugio Sapienza) to have a walk in the surroundings or take the cableway/jeep busses (not included). The rate for the family-friendly option is the same as the standard tour. It's also a full-day experience but on easy level routes.

Etna tours must be booked at least 48 hours in advance, using the online form and paying with credit/debit card.Before booking online, please contact us per mail to check availability on the requested day. Our Etna tours are available all around the year but with some limitations during the winter months.

Cableway excursion
Our medium height trekkings are complete experiences to discover Mt. Etna. Many companies offer also tours with the cableway. This option is not part of our standard trekking tours but it's possible to book with us the only transfer option with private driver. You will arrive at 1900 m on Etna south, to the mountain station Rifugio Sapienza. This is the starting point of the cableway. You will have 3 hours free time to take the cableway and arrive to the station at 2500 m or you can also take the additional jeep bus, up to 2900 m. The tickets of the cableway and jeeps are not included (30 to 62 €). No guide is necessary for the cableway trip. If you take also the jeep ticket there will be a local guide of the jeep company for assistance. On windy days the cableway could be closed and replaced by a bus service. Not suitable for people with asthma or problems with blood pressure
Summit craters trekking
Climbing to the summit craters is among the most beautiful but also most difficult experiences on Mount Etna. This trekking experience is suitable only for people in good health conditions. A certified Etna guide is required. If you are interested in this experience, please contact us about 5-7 days in advance for a tailored option.
