Presentation

Hermes Archaeology and Tourism was born in 2005 from the ideas of some young people fond of Sicily and its history and artistic and naturalistic beauties. The name reminds the Greek protector of the travellers. Hermes Archaeology & Tourism wants to promote tourism and archaeology in south eastern Sicily. Some of the services we offer are: sightseeing tours and archaeological trips in the area of Syracuse and Ragusa. Informatic applications and webpages for archaeology, archaeological photography and royalty free photos about Sicily, books and guides about our island. In our webpages you can also find the Tourist's Handbook for south eastern Sicily with a lot of useful informations for travellers.

Sightseeing Tours

In this section you can choose between a lot of guided tours in the area of Syracuse and Ragusa: discover the Sicilian art and baroque, visit the most famous archaeological monuments or take a thematic tour like the "Commissario Montalbano Tour" It doesn't matter if you are a group or you are alone... you will certainly find what you are searching for. Archaeological Tours

Go to the archaeological tours

Sicily has a very ancient history. Greek authors told that the cyclops were the first inhabitants of the island. Many others came after them, from Sikels to Greeks, Romans and Byzantins. In this area you can choose between a lot of archaeological excursions. Archaeological guides will bring you to sites and places which are outside the mass tourism routes but which are full of fascination. Discover the ruins of the ancient greek colonies, the prehistoric sicilian necropolis or forgotten byzantin frescoes in little stone churches in the Sicilian mountains...
